Job Purpose
To support apprentices through to the successful completion of their Functional Skills qualifications as part of an apprenticeship programme. With a passion for teaching and learning you will deliver English and maths at Level 1 and 2. You will be accountable for the complete Functional Skills journey with full responsibility for teaching and coaching a cohort of apprentices.

You have high level skills in maths and English and can support others with their development in literacy and numeracy.
You have excellent customer service skills, can be flexible in your approach and can communicate effectively both in person and online with managers and apprentices at all levels.
Be able to manage own time in an effective manner.
Key Responsibilities
- To plan, teach and support the delivery of the Functional Skills qualifications
- Support apprentice with all aspects of the delivery and additional support where applicable, working closely with our subject specialist training teams
- Provide information and guidance to the apprentice and employer about the progress of the apprentice
- To maintain high standards, adhering to service and awarding organisation quality assurance procedures
- Work with the Quality Team Leader/Quality Manager to ensure the standardisation of assessment and teaching practices
- Programme the training and support in liaison with the Training Specialist, Quality Team Leader and Account Manager whilst taking into account the employers’ individual requirements
- Deliver training to the apprentice using on-line resources and when/if required transfer the delivery to face to face
- To carry out English and maths initial and diagnostic assessments with the apprentice
- To keep and maintain accurate records of training and assessment in accordance with ESFA and Awarding Organisation requirements
- To maintain and update own CPD through internal CPD programme
- To be responsible and manage a caseload of apprentices
- Deliver reliable and excellent customer service to our employers
- Promote the principles of fundamental British Values, Safeguarding, H&S and E&D
Skills and Occupational Requirements
- Extensive knowledge & experience of the Functional Skills sector
- Experience of apprenticeships and other work-based learning
- Experience of working remotely using Microsoft Teams
- Qualified and competent to deliver English and maths qualifications
- Hold a recognised teacher / training qualification (AET, PTLLS or equivalent)
- Strong level of competency around IT systems and procedures and learner management systems
- Efficient time management & organisational skills
- Confident and be able to deliver qualifications on-line
- GCSE English and maths at C or above or equivalent
- Current full driving license
